What is the mid-market rate?
It is the midpoint between the prices at which a currency can be bought and sold in global markets. It is a benchmark for comparing rates, not necessarily a rate at which you can deal.
Why the rate you get may differ
Banks and dealers add a margin, and rates vary with the amount, timing and type of transaction. The amount you actually receive or pay can therefore differ from the converted value shown here.
Rates keep moving
Exchange rates change throughout the day, so the value shown is a snapshot of the market at that moment. If you are planning a payment, check again closer to the time you transact.
